Telco is the one industry where digital products aren't a layer on top of the business. They are the business. Self-service apps that compete with dedicated GraPARI queues. Decision-intelligence platforms that compress multi-day infrastructure reviews to real-time recommendations. 5G monetization surfaces. B2B connectivity APIs. We design and build digital products for Indonesian and SEA telcos that move the metrics that actually matter: ARPU, churn, digital self-service share, and the operational efficiency underneath all three.
The Indonesian telco sector is consolidating (XL–Smartfren as XLSmart merged into a ~94.5M customer base), deploying 5G rapidly (Telkomsel at ~97% 4G coverage and 3,000+ 5G sites), and under the same pressure every mature telecom market faces: flat ARPU, competitive churn, aging BSS/OSS, and the need to find new revenue on top of a connectivity layer that has become a commodity. We've been building for the sector since Setara (our decision-intelligence platform for telecom operations), and we work with carriers, wholesale operators, and telco-adjacent platforms on the digital surfaces that move network efficiency and customer LTV together.

Two-plane diagram: customer surfaces (mobile app, web, WhatsApp, GraPARI) above; BSS/OSS systems below. 5G/B2B column on the right. Compliance ticker at the bottom. Coming soon.
Four phases shaped by the realities of telecom operations: scale, compliance, and the operating cadence of 24/7 networks.
We map the product and the operation. Which BSS/OSS systems are legacy, which are modernizable, which must be integrated with rather than replaced? Where is customer experience the bottleneck? What's the 5G monetization and B2B connectivity strategy? Kominfo, BHP, BSSN, UU PDP requirements inventoried.
Product architecture designed for the operation's cadence: network maintenance windows, billing cycles, customer-support shifts. Integration points identified with legacy BSS/OSS; new surfaces built as modules that plug into the existing backbone, not replacements that break it.
Senior product engineers with telecom-domain exposure. Observability wired to production from first deploy. Release discipline aligned to telco operating windows. Resilience testing against real-world carrier-scale traffic patterns.
Handover to your carrier's IT, network operations, and customer operations teams. Runbooks, incident playbooks, BSSN cyber-incident alignment, Kominfo reporting integration. Ongoing architectural partnership as 5G, B2B, and AI layers grow.
Four disciplines that together move the carrier's digital surfaces forward without breaking the operations underneath.
Mobile app, web, WhatsApp, USSD: the surfaces customers actually use. Designed for SEA network and device realities, wired to BSS/OSS for billing + account + product changes, with AI-assisted conversational support for the interactions that don't need a human.
Sprout's Setara platform category: spatial AI, decision-intelligence products, real-time operational recommendations for infrastructure, capacity, and spectrum operations.
Digital product surfaces for 5G use cases: enterprise connectivity APIs, private network provisioning, IoT connectivity, cloud-connect. The revenue layer on top of infrastructure that's already been built.
Kominfo reporting integration, BHP licensing compliance, BSSN CIRT structure aligned for telecom operators, UU PDP customer data protection. Compliance as a product capability, not a Word document.
Sprout's longest-running deep vertical, with multiple named engagements in production.
We designed and built Setara, a decision-intelligence platform for telecom operations. Spatial AI over infrastructure and network data turned a multi-day manual review cycle into real-time recommendations. Published case on sprout.co.id.
We built Spectra, a spectrum management tool enabling telecom operators to visualize, allocate, and optimize radio frequency resources with AI-driven recommendations. Published case on sprout.co.id.
Telkomsel's AI Digital Smart Care deployment across 800+ GraPARI service points (recognized by IDC's 2024 Best Future Customer Experience award) proves that carrier-scale deployments of AI-assisted customer experience are shipping and earning awards today. For peer carriers, the benchmark has moved.
The decision-intelligence pattern Sprout built with Setara: spatial AI over infrastructure and network data, real-time recommendations to ops. What worked, what surprised us, what a carrier should expect.
Where 5G is actually moving ARPU in Indonesia (consumer video / gaming, enterprise connectivity, private networks, IoT) and the product surfaces that capture that value.
The sector is consolidating (XLSmart). What the operational and product implications of merging customer bases look like in practice, and the digital product choices that compound vs. conflict during integration.
Tell us the state: a customer-experience surface, a BSS/OSS modernization, a decision-intelligence platform, a 5G or B2B connectivity product, a compliance remediation. We'll scope a starting engagement at carrier-grade rigor with observability and regulatory alignment in scope. Worst case, you get a clear no and a short memo. Best case, you get a telco product partner whose work has already run at SEA carrier scale.
